Dressed In Time

My experience with Dress in Time was an experience that is hard to put into words! They helped me find the perfect yellow dress for my big day and altered it to fit my beach wedding. I told them my vision, and they were patient and kind. The owner helped me with my veil by personally going out to find material that would match. When she couldn't find a suitable fabric, she placed a special order without an extra charge to me. They even made me a custom garter (on the spot) to match my wedding theme. Through my frustrations with learning I may not have a beach wedding (after the dresses were already altered for me to wear no shoes), the staff calmed me and ensured they could adjust my dress again. However, everything worked, and I had the beach wedding of my dreams. I can go on and on about Dressed In Time. My dress was beautiful, and the experience from the moment I first walked into the store was like an experience in the movies!!! After unexpectedly losing my brother a few months ago, this experience was something I needed. Their generosity let me know there are still genuine people in the world. I will recommend them any day!

I had to do another rating to talk about my dress. It was so beautiful and unique for my beach wedding! They didn't have my size, so we had to order it. The dress came back in less than a week. My alterations were done in less than two weeks. The amazing Seamstress specially made my veil and garter. Everything was perfect! I will shop with them first anytime I need a dress for a special event!

We live a half hour away, but it’s a week before homecoming and the dress my daughter ordered online did not work. So after scouring southern milwaukee County, we eventually ended up at Von Mauer, which was also completely picked over, so I literally googled “homecoming dress” from their parking lot and found Dressed in Time. How lucky we did. Tons of gorgeous dresses. I knew when we walked in this was finally the right place. This is now our for-sure first (and probably only) stop here on out!

Awful place! My daughter was so excited to go dress shopping here. We stopped in to buy a homecoming dress. 2 women, 1 older and 1 younger, who were working could have cared less about helping us. However, the 000 girl who was in the store they were all over. Mind you they didn’t just do this to my daughter but another girl as well. No help at all! They wouldn’t put the dresses in a fitting room, get another size or help with confusing straps….probably because they were too busy doing all those things for the one girl. By the way my daughter and the other girl that walked out, aren’t larger sizes, but they definitely made you feel like you weren’t welcome unless you were a 0 or below. Ironically, I had $600 to spend in the store today and the other mom was surfing the internet for the exact same dresses her daughter was trying on. I’d make a bet not only did they lose my sale, the other girl who walked out sale but the girl they were fawning all over probably will buy on the internet. Stupidly, they forget that young girls talk and since my daughter plays sports she has lots of contact with girls from high schools all over the area. The store should be ashamed at how they treat young woman. My daughter walked out feeling really bad, and I was left picking up the pieces. Keep treating people like this and you will lose more and more sales . Do better!

Honestly a disappointing experience, all of the dresses are in bags so you can't tell what they actually look like till you try them on. Also the dresses are only sorted by size and color, so all styles and designers are mixed together. This made it very difficult to find ANYTHING to try on. This store might work if you are a size 00-6 but if you are an average sized woman like me this store will only make you feel insecure. 3/4 of the store is dedicated to these smaller sizes, cramming 8-20 (might have higher than 20 but I don't recall exactly) into the final 1/4. I wear a size 12-16, depending on the dress and the day, there were maybe 50 dresses that would fit me, none were in the color I wanted and most not is a style I enjoyed either. If you liked a dress you saw online good luck finding it, let alone finding it in your size. 12 is the average size of a woman in the us, do better. My second complaint is with the management of the line for the fitting room and enforcement of the rules. There are signs all over the store that state that 5 dresses is the limit to try on at a time, however there were several people in line with 10+ dresses. I have included a picture of the line for context. I got there at 2:30 pm on Saturday, took 30 minuets to pick out my dresses, then I entered the line and did not get into a dressing room until 4:15. I do appreciate the fact that I was allowed to change in the larger back room, however I feel is was a bit rude to tell us "we could take our time" and then continue to ask how much longer we would be. Maybe I'm projecting and they were only trying to check in but it felt pushy and it made me uncomfortable. On top of that no help was offered, this felt like the equivalent of shopping at a designer department store, not like going to a boutique. No one offered to help find or try on dresses, to find a different color, size, or style or anything. I've really been let down by this experience all together.

My daughter spent over $700 on her dress. I called to ask to get it altered. They charged her $70 , just to cut off most of her train. The lady doing the alterations yelled at my sister and asked her why she waited so long to bring the dress in. The dress wasn't going to be finished in time for prom, so the lady sent it home with my daughter unhemmed and the cut she made was right through the designs, so it was a disaster trying to hem it!
